About Me
Balance has always been the rhythm of my life.
Growing up as the second of five in a lively Caribbean household, I learned early how to find stillness within movement. My mom, from Trinidad, and my dad, from Curaçao, filled our home with culture, music, laughter, and love. With three brothers and one sister, there was never a dull moment — but in the beautiful chaos, I discovered something sacred: the importance of creating quiet space within yourself.
That lesson came from my granny.
She was serenity embodied. When the house felt loud or the world felt overwhelming, she showed me how to stay centered. She taught me that balance isn’t about escaping the noise — it’s about remaining grounded while life moves around you.
I still remember rolling out my yoga mat beside hers in front of the TV, following along to a Wai Lana yoga tape. What started as simple imitation became something much deeper. She taught me that yoga isn’t just movement — it’s connection. It’s self-care. It’s coming home to yourself.
After she passed away, I pursued my yoga teacher certification in her honor. Teaching yoga is my way of continuing her legacy — of helping others find the calm she so effortlessly carried. Every class I teach is rooted in that intention.
Beyond yoga, I’ve always been drawn to capturing life’s fleeting moments. I discovered photography during virtual school in the COVID season, and it quickly became another form of mindfulness for me. Through my lens, I look for light — whether it’s my brothers playing sports, friends laughing in the park, or a quiet sunset while traveling. Photography reminds me that joy lives in the small, everyday moments.
At the core of everything I do is connection.
Connection to self.
Connection to others.
Connection to culture.
Connection to the present moment.
Whether I’m teaching, traveling, creating, or learning, I am constantly seeking harmony — in relationships, in ambition, and in the simple rituals of daily life.
This blog is a space where I share that journey — finding balance, embracing beauty in the ordinary, and staying centered as the world keeps moving.
